Small Business Evaluations

Clarity Before Guesswork Gets Expensive

Before you invest in another course, tactic, or outside service, it’s worth knowing what actually applies to your business—and what doesn’t.

There are hundreds of business solutions available today. Most assume businesses are interchangeable. They aren’t.

Many business resources today are built around general frameworks or theoretical best practices. While those can be helpful, small business ownership is rarely theoretical.

This evaluation is grounded in decades of real-world ownership experience — navigating uncertainty, making difficult decisions with real financial consequences, and learning firsthand how strategy must adapt to the realities each business faces.

The goal is not to apply a formula, but to provide perspective shaped by experience.

Every small business operates in a specific market, with specific customers, constraints, and realities. What worked for someone else—somewhere else—often doesn’t translate. Guessing can be costly.

A private evaluation exists to help you understand what truly matters for your business right now, and where effort may be misdirected—before you commit more time or money in the wrong direction.

Evaluations are offered at two levels of depth depending on how detailed an outside perspective you’re seeking. Both follow the same objective approach described below, differing only in scope and level of analysis.

Who These Evaluations Are For

The evaluations are designed for:

  • Owner-operated small businesses

  • Owners who feel stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed by conflicting advice

  • Businesses that have tried “doing the right things” without clear results

  • Owners who value clarity and judgment over hype or tactics

Thiey are not for:

  • Startups looking for step-by-step training

  • Businesses seeking hands-on execution or agency services

  • Anyone looking for free advice or generic solutions

What This Is (and What It Isn’t)

These ares not a consultation or a sales call.

They're a paid, one-on-one evaluations designed to identify:

  • What’s helping your business

  • What may be holding it back

  • Where effort and attention are best applied

  • What you can safely stop worrying about

In some cases, the conclusion may be that you do not need outside help at all.

That clarity alone is often the most valuable outcome.

If this feels relevant, you can request a private evaluation here.

Evaluation Options

Businesses request evaluations for different reasons. Some want a focused outside perspective, while others prefer a deeper analytical review. Both follow the same objective approach outlined below, differing only in depth and scope.

Snapshot Evaluation — $149

A focused outside perspective

Includes:

  • Review of website and online presence

  • Trust and messaging observations

  • Key opportunity highlights

  • Written summary with practical recommendations

  • Brief 15-minute Zoom review conversation to clarify findings and next steps

Best suited for owners seeking clarity quickly.

Strategic Evaluation — $499

A comprehensive analytical review and strategic perspective

Designed for business owners seeking deeper clarity before making significant marketing, growth, or operational decisions.

This evaluation moves beyond surface observations to examine how your business is positioned, perceived, and experienced from a customer’s point of view — both independently and within the broader competitive landscape.

Includes:

  • Expanded evaluation using structured analytical review methods

  • Multi-angle assessment of positioning, visibility, and customer decision experience

  • Contextual evaluation of how your business presents relative to competitors and stronger performers within your market segment, highlighting gaps and overlooked advantages

  • Identification of hidden friction points and underutilized leverage opportunities

  • Comparative insight informed by broader business and market patterns

  • Prioritized opportunity mapping with clear reasoning behind recommended focus areas

  • Detailed written action plan outlining practical next steps

  • Extended 45-minute Zoom working session to review findings, clarify priorities, and discuss implementation direction

This level incorporates expanded analytical techniques not included in the Snapshot Evaluation, helping owners understand not only what may need adjustment, but why those changes matter most now.

Best suited for owners seeking comprehensive perspective, confident decision-making, and a clearer path forward.

Observations are based on publicly visible positioning, customer-facing signals, and comparative market context rather than formal market research or proprietary industry data.

How the Process Works

Both evaluation options follow the same structured approach. The depth of review and length of discussion vary depending on the evaluation level selected.

Step 1: Pre-Session Intake

You’ll complete a short questionnaire and share a few existing materials (website, social presence, etc.), allowing me to review your situation in advance.

Step 2: Independent Review

I review your business positioning, visibility, and current approach—looking for misalignment, wasted effort, and overlooked leverage.

Step 3: Private Zoom Evaluation

We meet one-on-one via Zoom to review findings and clarify next steps.
The length of this conversation reflects the evaluation level selected.

Step 4: Clear Direction

You leave with a practical understanding of next steps—whether you choose to act on them independently or seek further help elsewhere.

No jargon.
No pressure.
No obligation to continue.

What You’ll Gain From the Session

After the evaluation, you should have:

  • A clearer understanding of your market position

  • Insight into where time and money may be misdirected

  • Perspective on whether marketing or social media is truly serving you

  • A focused priority for the next 60–90 days

  • Relief from second-guessing and conflicting advice

Many owners find this saves months of trial and error.

What These Evaluations Do Not Include

To be clear, this evaluation does not include:

  • Team or staff assessments

  • Employee interviews

  • Operational audits

  • Marketing execution or management

  • Tactical or technical training

The purpose is clarity and direction, not implementation.

Why Consider This Now

Most small business struggles aren’t caused by lack of effort.

They’re caused by effort applied in the wrong places.

If you’re unsure what deserves your attention—and what doesn’t—this evaluation can help you stop guessing and move forward with confidence.
